THE SUN blessed 29 female golfers at the Skeena Val-
ley Ladies Championship Sept. 19-20.

Brenda de Jong won the overall low gross
championship while Kim Croot took home the overall
net championship,

“Unfortunately there were no holes in one, but
] everyohe had fun,”’ said participant Dawne Parker.

The, year-end fournament featured a special nine-hole
game for beginners intinyidated by an 18-hole tourna-
ment.. Parker said the beginners “thoroughly enjoyed
themselves”’ and she hoped they would-be up for all 18 |

Upcoming Skeena. Valley. Golf and Country: Club
events':include the Iron man scramble which takes
place‘ this week. The tough competition features ex-
tended holes and tough traps to lure golfers from Ter-
race, Prince Rupert and Kitimat, On Oct. 4, the club
hosts their mixed tournament, the Autumn Leaves
Scramble. The tournament is the club’s last event of

the year.
