Subject: 5% increase for rental rates.

Te is my understanding that City Council tabled the report on the
rate increases for admissions, arena rentals & room rentals at the
December 19th, 1983 meeting. The intent of the 5% was.in keeping
with the 6 and 5 program as set out by the Federal Government. The
other reasons for the 5% are that we are receiving less in grant
money from the Provincial Government and Mr. Maitland, City Treasurer
indicated that the 5% would be a minimal percentage that he would
recommend. I would strongly recommend that Council approve the 5%.
Mr. Maitland indicated that he is Prepared to speak to the 5%, ;
