Every person who violates any of the provisions of this By-law, or wno suffers or permits any act or thing tv be dune in violation of any of the provisions of this By-lav, or who neglects to do ot refrains from doing anything required to be done by any of che provisions of this By-law, ts guilty of an offence and upon sutmary conviction therefor, snail be liable to a fine and penalty not exceeding Five Bundred ($500.00) Dollars, or in default of Paycent thereof, or in the alter- Rative to imprisonment for a period of time not exceeding six (6) months. GEXERAL 21. “The City of Port Coquitlam sign By-law, 1963, No. 936" and all By-laws passed in azendsent thereto are repealed. 22. This By~law may be cited for all purposes ag the "City of Port Coquitlan Sign By-law, 1979, No. 1661". SCHEDULE "A" ~ ALL ZONES The following speetal purpeso and temporary signs shall be pernttred ta all Zones subject to the limitations set forth below: AR Signs of the Federal, Provincial or Municipal Governnent. 2. Traffic control signs as defined in the "Motor Vehicle Act", 3. Signs required to be maintained or posted by law of governzental order, Tule or regulation, 4. Signs indicating 3 hazard provided that they are not, in the opinioa of the Building Inspector, in excess of the dimensions reasonably necessary for the . required purpose. 5. Flags or emblems of political, civic, philanthropic, educational or religious organtzations, &. Merorial plaqueg, cornerstones, historical tablets and the like. 7. Directional signs (on-site). 8. Signs not visible off the lot upon which they are situated. 5. On any lot on which a residential use bullding fs located aot more than one trespassing, safety or identificarion sign not exceeding 9.2 2 (2.15 square feet) in area, and such Sign aay indicate any perattted hose occupation. 10. Window signs which do not exceed 20 Percent of the window area. il. Temporary political signs promoting any ecndidate, party or cause which may be displaye¢ icr 30 days prior to an election or referendum, provided that euch signs are roved within seven days following said election oz referendum. 12, Temporary signs pertaining to campaigns, drives or events of political, clvic, philanthropic, educational or religious organizations. 13. Temporary sigus advertising the sale, lease or rental of the lot or Premises upon which such signs are situated, provided that the combined area of such signs fronting upon each street which bounds such lot or premises shall not ? exceed a ratio of 0.1 m* (1.08 square feet) of sign area for each 93 u- (2001.04 square feet) of lot area, but need not be less than 0.6 at (6.46 square feet). In no case shall the conbined area of such signs fronting upon each street exceed 3.5 n? (37.67 square feet).
