THR CORPORATION CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM Mr. B.R. Kirk February 26, 1991 City Administrator File: 7/91 Carlos Felip Director of Planning Proposed Cabaret - 2614 Shaughnessy Street Planning Committee ~ February 26, 1991 RECOMMENDA TION : That Council refer this application requesting support to increase the current 225 seats liquor licence to 350 seats to a Public Hearing. BACKGROUND ยข The applicant, Poco Cabaret Limited hac been working in the upgrading of a building at 2614 Shaughnessy Street for the purpose of reopening a Cabaret at this location. Poco Cabaret Limited has been granted a Liquor Licence to operate a 225 seat cabaret at this location. Under current rules, it would be possible for Poco Cabaret Limited to apply for an amendment of their liquor licence to increase seating up to 350. Approval of this upgraded licence would result in Poco Cabaret increasing their seating from the currently authorized 225 seats, to 325 seats, the maximum they can physically accommodate in the building. Engineering Department: No comments. All Engineering Services were taken care of at the building permit stage. Building Department: Construction work in this building is progressing slowly. The occupancy has not been requested by the applicant. Our records indicate some outstanding deficiencies tc resolve. Fire Department: The Fire Department has no objections to this application. There seems to be some confusion regarding the 350 seat occupant load. The Liquor Control Board has indicated that occupant load has not been set as yet.
