Re: CONFINED SPACE ENTRY

With regard to the above subj i 1 S memorandum
to you. My fellow safety Xperts tell me that confined Space
entry penalties are now second only to shoring violation penalties.
The W.C.B. has placed a #1 priority on ensuring safe confined Space entry
practices, e.g. Powell River in November last year received a $3,000 penalty
one day and a second $3,000 penalty for non-compliance the next day.
t have listed a few other locations as follows:

Fall, 88 B.C. Ferry Cor. $4,000 penalty

Summer, 88 Babcock & Wilcox $3,000 penalty

Spring, 88 Vancouver Shipyard $2,500 penalty

Feb. 1988 Northern Corrosion $4,000 penalty
