THE CORPORATION OF YHE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM - 3 -. ITEM VI - Continued Re: Laurier Avenue Reconstruction a storm sewer installation on Regina Street north of Prairie. This storm sewer installation is now estimated to cost $35,000 because the developer north of Prairie has not proceeded with the portion of the storm sewer within the proposed development. Engineering fees are estimated to cost $7,000. B.C. Hydro and B.C. Telephone underground installations are now estimated to cost $30,000 more than we originally planned. In other words it is projected that there will be approximately $45,000 remaining in the account. On Friday, September 5th, 1975 the following tenders were received: “H& T Kwast - $121,362.56 (Plus 10% certified cheque) MacLand Construction ~ $147,244.06 (plus 10% certified cheque) Y.S.M. Contracting $151,187.60 H.B. Contracting - $186,383.35 (plus 10% Bid Bond) The Engineering Consultant estimates the project at $131,000 and in view of the City's most recent experience the City Engineer concurs with this estimate, The acceptance of the low bid would mean that the project will be approximately $66,000 over Budget. ; The Committee recommends that all bids be rejected and the work proceed on the easterly portion of Laurier Avenue by using City crews and ‘that expenditures made on this project in 1975 not exceed the original approved sum of $117,900.
