Citizen Public Relations/implications:

The benefit to the community, as a whole, is that these school facilities would be
available after school hours for community use. In addition, our department would
be able to increase the number of community programs available at the
neighborhocd level.

Over the short term, during this pilot project, their may be some inconvenience to
community groups seeking school facilities as they will need to call the School
District for most facilities and the Parks and Recreation Department for a few

facilities.
Intergovernmental Involvement/Implications:

This "pilot" project will build on the spirit of cooperation that we are trying to
develop with the School District. This "pilot" will improve the level of
maintenance to the community level grass field and will increase the availability of
the school for the community after hours. In addition, it will allow our staff to
introduce some community programs to these neighborhoods.
