The G.V.R.D. Development Services work Programme being Proposed
for 1985 includes three major Projects of interest to Port

Coquitiam. They are:
- Transportation Model for use by the Engineering Department

Housing development report about changes [In hous!ng demand, kind
and planning techniques. .

Economic Development, continuing on with work started this year.
It should be noted that Port Coquitiam Planning Department sits
on this subcommittee.

Information Service Providing reports and reviews of Census and
business statistics as they are released,

In recommending support for the City to enter Into the 1984
contract with Greater Vancouver Regional District, the Planning
Department indicated the service would Provide value above tha
amount of money spent. The fee to participate In 1984 and tn 1985
is equal to approximately a half year for a technician but
provides more information than could be gathered by someone in a
half year as well as providing sophisticated analysts.

Consequently, this report jis recommending that the City of Port
Coquittam continue its Participation In the Greater Vancouver
Regional District Development Services, into 1985,

Attachment

Under the terms of the current contract with the G.V.R.D.,
the City will have the opportunity later in the year to
discuss the details of the budget and the actual program.
