Dear Mr. Freeman:

This will acknowledge your ietter of September 30,
1976 in which you expressed concern over the quality of service in the
Port Coquitlam area.

The difficulties mentioned appear to be intermittent
and are very difficult to trace unless reported as the troubles occur. In this
regard Mr. C. R. Swabey, our Division Manager, met with Mayor Campbell
to seek his assistance in having the problems reported to our Service Center
"114" for immediate action. .

I was most concerned that the Council saw fit to pass
the resolution indicated as I can assure you that our continuing analysis of the
service.in Port Coquitlam dees not indicate a deterioriating situation. However,

I have instructed our Repair Forces in the area to review their maintenance
procedures so as to ensure that our equipment functions to required standards.

It is the Company's objective to provide a continuing
acceptable grade of telephone service to the residents of the City of Port Coquitlam
and if you have any further problems, please feel free to contact Mr. Swabey at
563-1434 or myself at 662-8771.
