The progress of the coriserva-
tion policy of-Canada, as applied
to forest resources, — depends

of the Departmentof the Interior
than upon any other organization,

ers of the forestry. branch de-
pends the future of the forest on
16,090,000 acres of Dominion
forest reserves, as well as.on the’

forest land in western .Canada,
which for the good of the country
may yet be set aside as perman-
ent forest reserves. In addition
to looking after Dominion lands,
the forestry branch is now being
asked by eastern land owners to
furnish advice as.to the best
