RAFT is presently in the process of becoming a registered society, a status which will give it access to a wider range of funding _ possibilities; - Vandergucht pointed out, however, that grants such as those distributed by B.C, Lot- teries are often condi- tional on the: recipient organization’s ability to raise matching amounts of donations from other sources. For the time be- ing, the continued ex- _istence of the project is in question. “RAFT has worked hard to put together pro- grams to keep young peo- ple off the streets, and this is a major setback,”’ Vandergucht said in reference to the rental situation. ‘“We are appeal- ing to members of the public, businesses and organizations to donate what they can to keep RAFT alive.”’ Donations for the RAFT cause can be: deposited with the Terrace branch of the Bank of Nova Scotia or mailed to Be Box 587, Terrace, introduced, The upcoming year will bring more jobs for young salespeople. ages 14-and up, and there will be a Dickie Dee truck Toaming the streets. “Look behind you, the van may be there,’’ Larsen said, ‘‘and be on the watch for new types of refreshments that the van will be carrying.” Larsen expressed his meee ERE TE Te Tag Oye NE OE gay ed ey ey aha EE GA a thanks for the support that was given to the business over this past year, and wishes everyone | a safe holiday season.
