That $4,500 be approved to buy and install playground equipment and that the monies be taken from the Park D.C.C. interest. 2. That up to $1,700 be approved to install two chain link fences {approximately 100f%. each) to create an easement for access into Marian Kroeker Park. 3. That up to $1,500 be approved for the building of the access. into the park. 4\, That the monies for items 2 and 3 be taken from the Parks & Recreation Department capital fund of $75,0€9. Background & Comments: The recommendation from the Parks & Recreation Department for an aecess inte the park was off Guest Street and would necessitate the removal of approximately six to eight trees. Both Marian and Henry Kroeker were concerned with the removal of the trees and, therefore, presented an alternative to Committee of Council on Monday, May 16th. The proposal from the Kroekers was that a ten foot easement be ereated on their property. This easement would be allowed until December 31st, 1990, at which time tha agreement would be termi- nated. The City solicitor is presently drawing up the appropriate documents. for the easement, 7 The ten foot easement will also require a five foot chain link fence on either side, The purpose of the easement is to permit aceess for the department's mowing equipment inte the park.
