This is our first AGM under our new constitution and we look
forward to seeing nany members in attendance. There have been
several exciting developments over the past year and there are
many possibilities for the future. We want to know what you, our
mamberg, think about all the goings-on! Sea you there!

New Books In Our Collection

Ceramic Science for the Potter (Lawrence) revised. This is a
text-book for the ceramic artist who wants a more detailed
scientific knowledge of his craft than is available in most "how

to" books.

Tile Decorating with Gemma. This describes an elementary slip
trailing approach to decorating mainly commercially manufactured
tiles. It could give ideas for hobby classes, teaching children,
or “jazzing up” a bathroom.

Coiled Pottery, by Betty Blandino, "looks at historical axamples
of coiled pottery and describes the methods of contemporary and
ethnic potters who build in this way." An interesting text and
many photographs remind us of the sophistication and beauty that
can be achieved with this technique.
