Alderman Thompson asked whether the field would be scheduled for use by other sports and the Recreation Director replied that it would be so scheduled. Alderman Laking advised funds would be sought from Provincial Government Lottery Funds for the lighting of the Morgan Avenue - Taylor Street park. Alderman Ranger asked for clarification on the use of a grass field in winter and asked the Leisure Activities Committee to prepare a further report in view of the possibility mentioned of obtaining $80,000 from Provincial Government Lottery Funds for the Morgan Avenue —- Taylor Street park. From the Leisure Activities Committee, November 16th, 1978 advising Leisure Activities (78 ae Nov. 16 of the drainage problems at the Evergreen Park Soccer Field and the need Evergreen for an interceptor drain on the low side of the field to pick up the Park Soccer mers ~ drainage off the field and carry it to the ditch, and that the surface rainage of the field has dips which serve to pond some of the water which consequently leaves parts of the field in a wet condition. Discussion then ensued. Mr. Schellenberg from Nu-West Developments was present and stated that the park was still in the construction stage and the drainage problem should be corrected by Spring. Land Sale Comn., From the Land Sale Committee, November 17th, 1978 reporting on the Nov. 17/78 re road closure recommendation made by the Planning and Zoning Committee regarding the “R278. land sale mentioned in rezoning application, R#12-78, in a report to Council at the regular meetiug held on October 23rd, 1978 that the 33' portion of Elgin Street (east of Mary Hill Road) be abandoned, and disposed of to the adjacent owner to the south of the property, along with the possible sale of the remainder to the Port Coquitlam Building Supplies, being the property owner to the north, and referring the subject to the Land Sales Committee for study and recommendation on exchange procedures. The Land Sale Committee reviewed the market value in the area and have concluded that fair market value for the land fronting on Mary Hill Road would be in the neighbourhood of $8.00 per square foot and that the Committee was unable to concur with the recommedation; 4 to close this portion of Elgin Street as there had not been unanimous agreement.
