1976 March Ist, Prior to the passage of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Traboulay H noted that many of the pools in the City are the above-ground 'portable' plastic type and are not conforming as far as fencing regulations etc. and Alderman Laking agreed that many of the smaller plastic pools were as great a hazard as the larger in-ground type. Alderman Thompson expressed the opinion that it would be advisable to advertise in the local press to the effect that in light of the recent tragedy, the Council urges all residents to check that their pools are properly fenced and gates locked at all times. Alderman Traboulay reported on the recent Mosquito Control Board Ald.Traboulay re Mosquito Control Bd. mtg. meeting that the City Administrator had attended for .him and advised that in his absence he had been appointed Vice-Chairman of the Board. Hospital funds Special Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Greater Vancouver Hospital District and questioned remarks on page 2 thereof wherein it states, with reference to the Coquitlam & District Ho: spital, that "Mr. Barth noted that to complete both this and other projects, axisting by- law money is insufficient and a further money by-law would be required.' Aiderman Traboulay directed his questions to “Mayor. ‘Campbell and enquired regarding the $95 Million that had been designated over 4 years ago and Alderman Laking ‘advised that he spoken with the Chairman last fall and . had been advised at that time that due to inflation the projects to have been covered by the by-law would now cost between $225 Million to- $240 Million and there were. two alternatives for action, i.e. another referendum could be called or secondly that, with the permission of the Minister, work could proceed and the buildings be completed without a further referendum.
