ITEM I

Re: Birchland Park Pool

The City has received a petition with 73 signatures outlining
the concern of residents adjacent to Birchland Park about the condition
of the pool. The receipt of this petition is certainly not the first in-
dication of dissatisfaction with the pool. This dissatisfaction has been
‘expressed continuously from the time the pool was first constructed. In
view of the comments received from many residents, the committee strongly
recommends to Council that the pool be removed and/or filled in.
