Resolution Re: Tobacco Products Advertising

Background

That Council adopt the attached resolution prepared by Dr. Arnott of
the Simon Fraser Health Unit relating to tobacco products
advertising.

That the adopted resolution be forwarded to the Honorable Perrin
Beatty, Minister of Health and Welfare.

and Comments:

The Committee reviewed Dr. Arnott's request that a resolution requesting
assurance that brand names will not be used in the advertising of tobacco
products as set out in Bill Cc-51. The Committee supports Dr. Arnott's request

and recommends that the resolution be adopted.
