SUBJECT: BCRPA Programming Workshop
Recommendation:

it is recommended that Rolande Ross, Lorraine Sabyan, Erin
Murphy and Janna Taylor be authorized to attend the
"Programming for Girls and Women " workshop and that related
expenses be funded by the City of Port Coquitlam.

Purpose/Problem:

The purpose of this report is to provide information and a recommendation
regarding a request received from several department staff to attend the
"Programming for Girls and Women” workshop.

Background Information:

Attached is the program outline for the aforementioned workshop being held

in Vancouver on February 18, 1993. This workshop will address severai

issues related to managing the barriers that prevent women/girls from

participating in our programs and utilizing our facilities. This information

should Prove to be valuable as we prepare our plans for expanding Hyde
reek.

Erin and Janna are both involved with presentations at the workshop.

Additional costs for staff to attend this workshop, {i.¢e. registration, etc.) is
estimated to be under $200.00 and funds are available in the 1993 udget.
