The meeting of the May Day Committe was called to order by Chairman Bob Hind on Sept. 17,1979 in the staff room of the City Hall. The minutes were read from the last meeting dated Auge 27,1979 1. Discussion on the May Day Co-Ordinator. Whether to be salary or part-time. And. the Date of the May Day. Motion was made by Bob Sutter that the job be posted in the City Hall and ‘put in the local paper for the Co-ordinator for 1980 May Day Celebrations. Seconded by Elaine Cramer. Carried. Motion was made by Wendy Bridge to leave the date of May 31, 1980, for our MayyDay Celebrations Seconded by Georgina Kolodiazny. Carried. 2. Larry Pollock will be looking into whether to get Wagner Shows or test Coast Amusements for our 1960 celebrations. : 3. A letter was read from Dan Hunter. In which he volunteered to do the Parade Marshalling. « Georgina Kolodiazny made a motion that Can Hunter-pe the Parade Marshall for the 1980 tiay Daye Seconded by Bob Sutter. Carried. 4. Disscussion on the POCO Reunion. The date is May 17,1980, at the POCO High. There was a speaker representing the reunion his name is Mr. Kerns. The purpose of trying to have it joint «with the May Day is to have the city involved in two attractions After a lengthy disscussion it was passed that we have May Day on May 31,1980. That the Poco Reunion will need to have 2 full support of the town schools and Recreation center. 5. Disscussion or the float. Elaine Cramer recommended to let the public no we need* their help. To divide the work load and especially ording the food, etc at the proper places for a reasonable discount. Suggested we have a purchaser to organize our food etc. Or to find out where they aan be purchased at a better Price.
