February 3rd, 1975 Alderman Ranger referred to remarks made by Mayor Muni Evers of the City of New Westminster in his capacity as Chairman of the Greater Vancouver Regional District Housing Committee concerning development of property owned by the G.V.R.D. at the North-east corner of the Lougheed Highway and Pipeline Road and stated that in his opinion it was completely improper for Mayor Evers to justify the purchase price paid for the said property on the basis of a high density residential plus commercial development when the property is, in fact, zoned RS-] (One-Family Residential). Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That a strong letter of censure be forwarded to Mayor Muni Evers, Chairman of the Greater Vancouver Regional District Housing Committee, protesting his attempt to justify the purchase price paid by the G.V.R.D. for property in the City of Port Coquitlam located at the North-east corner of the Lougheed Highway and Pipeline Road by proposing a high density residential and commercial development when in fact the property is zoned RS-1 (One-Family Residential) and no proposal or consideration had been given by the Port Coquittam Council to changing such zoning designation. Carried. Alderman Ranger referred to the minutes of January 14th of the Coquitlam School Board concerning the implementation of a Westwood Mall Annex to the District of Coquitlam's Centennial Library and requested City staff to inquire into the legality of this proposal. Alderman Keryluk inquired when a meeting would be held with Provincial representatives to discuss the drainage situation of the proposed Burke Mountain Housing Development and the City Administrator advised that it should be held shortly as the former Provincial Housing expeditor had now commenced his new duties with Dunhill Development Corporation. Alderman Keryluk inquired about a petition recently received by the City concerning drainage in the Sefton Street area and Alderman Ranger stated that the Public Works Committee was presently examining the situation in that area and would be reporting in due course. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That this meeting do now adjourn. Carried, At 10:30 p.m. the meeting adjourned. /9.
