Also in attendance was K. Janna Taylor, Parks & A Recreation Director. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTE~ That the minutes of the meeting the Parks & Recreation Committee, held on Wednesday, Mayof29th, 1986, be taken as read and adopted. Item No~ date on Wilson Centre Drawi~&iss Janna indicated that architects had sent her a contract for the City the to sign and that she had passed this on to the solicitors. We have now received the solocitor's comments and made the necessary changes with Cornerstone have and this will be brought to the next meeting. It was also noted that we need Committee to supply a survey of the location of the various buildings on the site for Cornerstone and this is presently being undertaken. This will naturally delay the design drawings somewhat and the date completion is now the end of November, 1986. for In the contract document the Parks Recre:ition Committee is identified as the "sign committee; this particular function will off" have to be ratified by the City Council. ~U & Recommendation: That the Parks & Recreation Committee be authorized to act as the "sign off" committee for the design drawings for the Wilson Centre. CARRIED 2. That the verbal repcrt be rece.ived. CARRIED /2. Item No ? Item No. 3 O.A.P.O That the O.A.P.O. be invited to the next meeting at 3: 45 p.m. in the Council Chambers . That meeting will take place June 19th, 1986. McLean Park Janna went over variou- concerns at McLean Park . The first concern had to do with design for the McLean Park change facilities. Adrawings consultant has been retained to draw up the design drawings for the new facilities and his name is Bill Geiss. Another point that was brought up about McLean Park was in regard to the grass area, i.e. the small soccer field, and it was pointed out that a decision was made not to turf the area for a couple of reasons; one reason being that, at present, there is no irrigation system and the turf would not have grown. The other reason is that by having the turf. in that particular part of the park, seeding on the other side of the fence would create an uneven surface for the soccer field. It was pointed out that the irrigation could not go in this week due to the fact it was held up at the U.S.A. border; however, that it is intended that the irrigation go in next week. There is a strong possibility will that season for the small field will havetheto soccer be by approxi..iately four weeks. This decision delayed will be made at a later date. The other area that was brought to the attention of the Committee was the installation of the playground equipment. Concerns have been ed by various people in regard to softballsexpressinto the playground area. It was pointed outgoing that this situation will be rectified with the erection of netting over the playground equipment. It is felt that this will solve the problem. Recommendation: That the report be received. CARRIRD Item No. 4 PoCo B.M.X. It is time to renew PoCo B.M.X. lease at the Reeve Street Park.
