Men’s soccer playoffs

MEN’S SOCCER playoffs continue Saturday, Sept. 18
at Thornhill fields,

Forestry FC plays Northern FC behind Thornhill Jun-
ior and the Internationals play Canadian Tire at Thorn-
hill Primary at 3:30 p.m.

Then, at 5:30, round robin action comes to an end
when FC Alean plays ruins behind Thornhill Junior
while Super BM spars against Home Hardware behind
Thomhill Primary.

Semi-finals run Sunday, Sept. 19 at 4:30 p.m. and the
season finishes off Saturday, Sept, 25 when the con-
solation finals at 1 p.m. and piayoff finals at 3 p.m.

The Terrace Senior Men’s Soccer Association then
holds it’s post scason celebration September 25 at the
Elks Hall,

The bash is the leagues annual chance to hand out
team and player awards, door prizes, music and danc-
ing. Tickets cost $5 and are available from soccer team
managers,

Artistic wins tournament

ARTISTIC HAIR studio beat out HDS in the first an-
nual Artistic Hair Studio women’s soccer (ournament,

Artistic last to HJDS Friday, September 3, in a 0-1
battle that saw HJDS’s Patty Tackema score the only
goal 45 minutes into the first half.

Artistic then beat Blessings 5-i Saturday with
Monica Rauter scoring all but one of Artistic’s five
goals. Mui Luc scored a quick goal for Artistic two
ininutes into the second half and Roselyn Brown
scored four Blessings 15 minutes later.

In the final match HJDS and Artistic Hair Studio
paired off again in a very close 2-1 game. Goal scorers
were HJDS’s Heidi Siebring and Artistic’s Monica
Rauter and Leanne Kennedy.

World-renowned belly

dancer coming here

GET READY TERRACE, one of Canada’s most well-
known belly dancers is coming here to shake things up.

Hadia will teach classes at Uplands Elementary
School from 10 a.m, to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

. September 25-26.

With a degree in theatre and performing arts as well
as massage therapy, Hadia incorporates ber ability to
weave music with movement.

Hadia has been teaching dance for 25 years and won
1998 Best Instructional Video in North America.

Organizers hope Hadia will also treat local
enthusiasts to rare, bul as yet unconfirmed, per-
formance Saturday evening.

a part of the First Skeena Girl Guide troupe will be at

Annual Terry Fox Run encourages locals to raise
money for cancer research, Having lost a leg to bone
cancer, Terry set out to rid the world of cancer in
1980. His journey ended in Thunder Bay, Ontario
when Terry's cancer spread. He died in 1981. Call
