6 Terrace Review — Wednesday, September 24, 1986 soccer season ends for Terrace youth — Terrace Youth Soccer participants enjoyed another outstanding season this year — a season that ended last week with final playoff games in the eight divi- sions. The May-to-Septem- ‘ber action included Ter- race hosting the B.C, in- terior ‘B’ championships and an under-18 select team gaining third place in a major tournament at Langley. Here’s how each divi- -sion wound up their season during the double-knockout play- offs over the first two weeks of this month. UNDER:7 DIVISION Terrace Chrysler came back through the ‘B’ side to win this six-team sec- tion. The Chrysler kids started with a 4-0 win over Doc’s United. They were bounced to ‘B’ side by a 3-1 loss to Ken’s Photo, From there it was four wins in a row — 2-0 over Dairy Queen in the Letter championship game. UNDER-S DIVISION . Sundance waltzed through undefeated to capture this six-team division. They started _ with a bye, then downed Kinsmen 2-0 -in the quarter-final, In the semi-final, Sundance edged Tilden 2-1. Tilden dropped to ‘B’ side and eliminated Lions 3-0 to gain another shot at Sun- dance. But it was the same result as in the earlier game and Sun- dance came through with another 2-1 win in the final. UNDER-10 DIVISION In this largest (eight teams) of all league divi- sions, the Co-op came through with four: Straight victories to cap- ture the championship. They started with a 3-1 win over Carlyle Shep- herd in the opening round, then edged A.G.K. Pacmen 2-1 in quarter-final action. The Co-op doubled up on Westar 4-2 in the semi- final, then defeated Westar by the same score in the final, after Westar came back through the ‘B’ side. UNDER-11. DIVISION Northwest Sportsmen suffered a 4-0 first-round loss to Finning in this four-team section, but then dropped down to ‘B’ side where they beat the other two teams for another crack at Fin-. ning. First it was 4-0 over Aqua-Plumbing, then 1-0 over Cedarland Tire. The Sportsmen then gained revenge by down- ing Finning 3-2 for the title. Bavarian lost 5-1 to Northern Drugs in the opener of their four- team series. On ‘B’ side they eliminated Sight and Sound 3-1, then faced Northern Drugs again and sidelined them 4-3. In the final against Bud’s Truckers, -Bava- rian grabbed a 3-2 vic- tory. UNDER-14 DIVISION _ Northern Motor Inn swept this four-team set with three wins in a row. They started by beating Rotary 4-0, then edging All Seasons 2-1.: Down on ‘B’ side, All Seasons took out Rotary 4-0 for another shot at the Inn kids. Northern won the championship game 3-1. GIRLS’ DIVISION It was the long road back for K’shian Con- struction after they lost 2-1 to Pizza Hut in the opener of this four-team playoff. On ‘B’ side, K’shian started with a 2-1 win over Kinettes, then beat Richard’s 4-0. In their second contest against Pizza Hut, K’shian prevailed with a 3-1 win for the title. UNDER-18 DIVISION Three straight wins gave Dave’s Plumbing the championship of the oldest age group. They started with a 3-1 victory over Manuel’s Pumas, then outscored Braid’s Rovers 6-4. In the cham- pionship game it was Dave’s over Manuel’s 4-2. As the season comes to an end, we would be remiss if we failed to congratulate Vic Jolliffe on his excellent job in keeping statistics for all divisions and supplying us with all the scores.
