Dear Keader:

The figures tell the story. Only 556 subs turned in on a target of 1,500,
and time is running cut.
But here are some figures that show what could be done. We still have
46 outstanding sub renewals for August, 175 for September and 314 for October.
Pick up these renewals in the next two weeks and we'll be close
to our objective.
Along with renewals, some new subs are coming in. On
Tuesday this week a seaman brought in five subs — one re-
newal and four new readers. We welcome these four industrial
workers to our growing family of readers of the progressive
press.
A few press clubs are beginning to roll. Advance club is
the only city club over the top; Nelson and Cumberland have
also reached their objectives.
