The width restriction is the logical one to use necause that is what we are trying to control. However, we do not have any signs available restricting width and there would also be a problem with drivers not knowing their exact width or whether the restriction applied to outside mirrors. We do have weight restriction signs and it would seem to me that this is the simplest and most practical method of controlling trucks over the bridge since each trucker knows what weight he is licensed at. If Council authorizes the weight restrictions, I ld propose that the weight restrictions apply to the bridge self with signs posted at each end of the bridge and with gos indicating "No Truck Route" located for warning purposes Westwood and at Mary Hill Road on Kingsway. This should be sufficient for the length of time that it takes to install a Lemporacy bridge on Pitt River Road. Notices: have gone out to the major industries in Port cCaquitlam advising truckers to use the Mary Hill Bypass route .a@ the Lougheed Highway. This will a long way around. for some industries and Council might expect to receive some complaints. r, we do not anticipate this situation to last longer about two weeks. F.E. Peters., P.
