Thanks to her organizational skills, her determination, and her hard work, Mme Ferron made every fundraiser a successful, fun-filled event enjoyed by students and their families alike. Mme Ferron is our 2004-2005 Volunteer of the Year. Best of luck, Rachelle, and our heartfelt thanks! The SEG has been able to fund some of the projects submitted by school administrators and teachers. The monies have been used to purchase more musical instruments, camping equipment, and sports equipment. Our next and final major fundraising event will be the chocolate sales. Parent volunteers—we need you! And without Rachelle...we need you more than ever! Several parents braved a torrential downpour to attend the parents’ meeting on January 18. The administration proposed two pilot projects—summer remedial and/or enrichment courses, and a partnership with Société Maillardville-Uni. Parents were enthusiastic about the proposals and hope that these initiatives will help our school to expand. PEMBERTON — NEw PROGRAM =————— Par VERONIQUE ERIKSSON, SECRETAIRE DE L’ APE ENGLISH VERSION Signal Hill Elementary School in Pemberton Valley, which opened at the beginning of this academic year with students from Kindergarten to Grade 7, made a name for itself with an outstanding Christmas show. This was indeed a new direction for Signal Hill School, welcoming a francophone school to its community. Parents and friends enjoyed the songs, dances, and play that united the young and not-so- young in an atmosphere of peace and joy. The francophone community will continue to host its monthly evening of French-language films. This event is open to the public. Finally, thanks to all of the parents and children for their efforts for the success that we all appreciate. Congratulations! Keep up the good work! 11 Jufo-Parents
