We are enclosing material describing Petition 1, a Petition
by the people of Canada demanding a change in the laws dealing with
violent crimes.

We are sure that residents of your area will require informa-
tion regarding Petition 1. Persons wishing to respond individually in
support of Petition 1, can write to the above Post Office Box. Persons
wishing to assist by collecting signatures can do so by copying (even
manually) the enclosed signature sheet, and mailing these sheets, once
completed, to the above Post Office Box.

Mayor Hazel McCallion and most Councillors of the City of
Mississauga have signed and fully endorse Petition 1. Mississauga City
Hall is presently distributing Petition 1 material to anyone who contacts
them requesting same. We anticipate and hope thatevery City Hall and.
Municipal Office in Cities and Towns across Canada will dlso assist us
by providing this information to residents of their areas.

We would request that this matter be put on the agenda for your
next meeting of Council. We would also request that you and Council
Members and Aldermen consider signing Petition 1, either in your offic
capacities, or as private, concerned citizens.
