McEwen congratulated the North Shore and White Rock Press Clubs for their outstanding work and presented them with the shield for best all round performance during the drive. Honorable mention was given to Victory Square, Point Grey, Cowichan, and Nanaimo Press ‘Clubs. McEwen in presenting a special gift to all Honor Press Builders, paid a warm tribute to the two most outstanding individual contributors Bob Towle and Rita Tanche. Bob Towle from Vancouver East raised $535, and Rita Tanche from White Rock-Delta $500. McEwen also paid a special Tribute to Efrum Kozak who from his sick bed in the hospital made a special donation of $1000, the highest single contribution, to make sure that the Drive would succeed and that the reMe would be able to carry on in its struggle. A warm tribute was also paid to veteran PT mailer Dunc McLean now in hospital, who raised $140 towards the drive. In addition, McEwen mentioned. the ‘names of two outstanding PT ‘supporters, Bill Hohlachoff and Bill Stoneman in whose name the North Shore Press Club raised $100 each in tribute to their undying memory.
