The following is a list of statements made at the Public Information Meeting organized by the applicants for Development Permit #66/93, to discuss a proposed patio relocation to the Cat and Fiddle Pub. The meeting was attended by approximately fifteen people, including the owners of the pub. e Complaint Regarding Noise/Partying on the parking lot and street surrounding the pub, at closing time. The pub should complete the construction of the rear yard fences and re~landscape backyard. The pub should reinstate the buffer between the pub property and the residential at the back, as all the rest of industrial properties in the area do. The pub should not use the “buffer area" for parking purposes. Current problems with the pub are not only generated by the patrons parking on the street - the neighbours are annoyed about noise coming from the existing patio and the parking areas. The proposed relocation will place the patio closer to residential neighbours, rather than facing other industrial uses. The neighbours would prefer to see the existing patio to go - no replacement. The main problem (created by the pub to residential neighbours) is with the patrons at quitting time. There are fights fairly regularly, but there has not been one in almost three months. Fights do not happen inside the pub due to security. Pub owners indicated that there is no fighting or noise after the pub is closed. Because they are the last ones to live the area. The neighbours do not agree. The noise and impact of the pub increased when the trees in the "buffer area’ were cut and the parking lot was enlarged. The owners indicated that the pub has a capacity of 145 seats (including the patio), 45 staff members and a total of 100 parking stalls, which are sufficient for the pub use. If the patio is moved the noise on Brown Street will increase. In the current location noise from the patio is screened by the pub building. Cont'd.../2
