Blood clinic makes goal

Cross Blood Donors. Clinic in
the northwest, but when the.
final count’ was in it was a great
_ success — 1,041 pints of blood |
- were collected in Terrace, Kiti-
nat and Prince. Rupert — 41

in Kitimat for 4-3/4 hours and

came up with 522 pints, Kitimiat.

Terrace itself, four residents-re- -

ceived special recognition: Ron

Steven Baker, who have cach
donated 35: times, and Peter

Nicholson, who has donated 75 |

times. Each individual can
donate as often as four times a
year.

Winners of the business chal-
lenge trophy. for the: greatest

percentage of employee partici-
pation in Terrace were All West.

Premier to visit Nass

Premier Bill Vander Zalm will be in the Nass Valley July 28

for talks with the Nisga’a Tribal Council, but .it appears that Ter-

race is not on his itinerary except as an arrival and departure

point.

. Nisga’a Tribal Council Rod Robinson said the Premier is
fulfilling a promise made after the most recent NTC annual con-
vention, when he said he would have further discussions on roads

and other services i in the Nass. Valley. “We're still negotiating the

agenda,”’. he said.

It was a record-breaking win for Vancouverite Jaime Cath-
cart at last weekend’s Rotary-sponsored Skeena Valley
Triathlon. Cathcart clocked one hour, 50 minutes and 38
seconds to win the men's individual division. He's a friend
and co-worker of Leon Fisher, the former record-holder.

Carol C Coan of Prince Rupert won the women’s individual
diviston at the Skeena Valley Triathlon In a time of two
hours, 37 minutes and 22 seconds, 19 minutes off the rec-

ord set by Michelle Roy-Fisher last year. For complete
