Kirk December 15, 1992 City Administrator 105/92 Carlos Felip Director of Planning ’ 2710 Lougheed Highway ~ Development Variance Permit Application 105/92 Planning and Development Committee ~ December 15, 1992 RECOMMENDATION: That Council pass a resolution authorizing the Planning Department to prepare Development Variance Permit 105/92 wnder Section 974 of the Municipal Act. DISCUSSION: A Development Variance Permit Application has been received for an addition to an existing commercial free~standing sign at 2710 Lougheed Highway. The sign was previously approved and is legally non-conforming respect to the current Sign Bylaw. A variance to the Sign Bylaw is required as the sign is supported by two pylons which do not occupy at least 75% of the width of the sign. A height variance is also required as the existing sign exceeds the permitted height of 6.5 meters by approximately 2 meters. The addition will be placed below the existing sign between the two supporting structures and will not increase the current non-compliance. JL/kir ID607—13
