Application for Community Care Licence ~ 3459 Jervis Street

Council will recall the earlier report from the Environmental
Protection Committee regarding a licence for a Care Heme for five
retarded children at 3459 Jervis Street, At the last regular meeting of
Council the issuing of a licence was approved subject to the required
canvass of the area being taken.

The applicant conducted a canvas of tha area on February
the 5th and 6th and distributed information to the residents outlining
the proposal, All residents were asked to sign a form indieating that
they have received information and were advised to contact either myself
or Mary Brown, Sdmon Fraser Health Unit to indicate any objections to
the proposal. AJ1 residents in the radius of four hundred fect were contacted
with the exception of four who were not available after a repeat visit.
The area covered is shown on the attached map and the owners that were
not able to be contacted are indicated with a x.

As a result of the canvass I have received only one letter of
objection from the owner of 345) Jervis Strees. Thia letter is attached,
I wat informed by Mary Brown that ghe has received no contacts as a result

of the canvas,

1t would appear that there {a no Atrong objection to the homa
_da the area from the immediate neighboura and Council may wish to consider

the licence for approval,
