COUNC MAR 2 1 1977 March 18, 1977, TO: MAYOR AND COUNCIL FROM: LEISURE ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE ROBERT HOPE SCHOOL BOARD SWIM PROGRAM ~ - please see attached insormation. The Ledsure Activities Committee has indicated to the principals of the Schools involved with the Robert Hope Swim Program that the fee Lon students would have to be ineneased to $3.25 Lon a six week proqgaam. The reason for the increase beina that the subsidy fon six weeks at $2.75 was too great. However the principals felt that then could not chanqe $3.25 as the Schook Board had only given them permission to charane $2.75. Rather than completely folding the program they requested that a sowr week yroqham at $2.75 be provided. It should also be noted that the PoCo Marlins Swim Chub wikl aPso be wsina the pook during the four weeks Lor practise. There will also be public Swimming akter schook and on weeh ends. Recommendation: The Leisure Activities Committee necommends that the Recreation Department proceed with a four week program at a cost of $2.75 per student.
