April 14th, 1975 Alderman Keryluk advised of a report from the City Administrator to the Health Committee regarding extensive acts of vandalism at the Schinz Property, recently acquired by the City, wherein it was noted that even if the offenders are apprehended by the Police, restitution for the damage is very unlikely unless the persons involved are juveniles and the parents can be made responsible. Alderman Keryluk commented with respect to liquor sales at sports events, etc., and stated his view that the day will come very soon when liquor will be sold freely at all sports arenas, and that he did not think the world will collapse because of it. Alderman Laking referred to the recently-held meeting of Lower Mainland Mayors at the PoCo Valley Golf & Country Club on the juvenile situation, and inquired as to further progress in that regard. Mayor Campbell advised that a Committee has been set up to study the problem and that a further meeting, sponsored by the City of Vancouver, will be held at the Villa Motor Hotel in Burnaby on April 29th, 1975. Alderman Mabbett referred to the public meeting held earlier this evening on the subject of imposing a curfew, and inquired when this subject would be brought to Council for further consideration. Mayor Campbell advised that it would be discussed at next week's meeting. Aiderman Tratoulay referred to a trip made to Victoria by Alderman Laking on behalf of the City, and inquired whether there would be a report on this. Mayor Campbell advised that such a report would be prepared later. Alderman Traboulay referred to a study being undertaken by the Crippen Engineering firm and in response to his request, Mayor Campbell stated he would obtain a progress report thereon.
