Carried . CORRESPONDENCE & REPORTS FOR INFORMATION: From the Fire Chief, being the June, 1975 report of the Fire Department. The report was received for information. From the Senior By-law Officer, June 30th, 1975, being the report of the Inspection Department for June, 1975. The report was received for information. From the British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, June 30th, 1975 being the June, 1975 service report of the pound operation. Alderman Keryluk spoke to the report with regard to the number of animals being destroyed or abandoned and made reference to information he had received from a Mrs. Lee Davis which suggested control of production of animals rather than increasing the expense of picking up abandoned animals. Alderman Keryluk requested that in the fall, the Council take another look at the suggestions put forward at a previous meeting similar to those advanced by Mrs. Davis. The report was then received for information. REPORTS: From Mayor Campbell, July 3rd, 1975, reporting on various items considered at the July 2nd, 1975 Greater Vancouver Regional District Board Meeting. Speaking to the report, Mayor Campbell noted that since his report was a written, a meeting between the B.C.M.C. and the G.V.R.D. Advisory Board had been arranged. From Mayor Campbell, July 10th, 1975 reporting on a Special Meeting of the Greater Vancouver Regional District Board held on July 9th, 1975 to discuss the Livable Region Study. Alderman Laking referred to the recommendation that .35 mils be set aside for development of those areas that have been set aside for parks and he compared this problem with a similar situation within the City and recommended that a similar approach be considered for next year with respect to our own parks. From Alderman Keryluk, July 7th, 1975, being a report on Library Accommodation and outlining a proposal to lease space for a temporary library facility for the City of Port Coquitlam in a building at Whyte Avenue and Leigh Square owned by Horner Developments Ltd.
