TRIBUTE PROGRAM 1980 Canadian Olympic Team Dates: August 30-September 1, 1980. Team members will be assembled in Toronto, arriving August 30-31, and lodged at the Royal York Hotel. On the day of their arrival, they will be outfitted with an Olympic Team uniform, courtesy of Simpsons-Sears, and will receive a framed Team Member certificate. At a private banquet, evening of August 31, Imperial Room, Royal York Hotel, Team members will be awarded a special Olympic recognition medal designed by world-renowned medallic artist Mrs. Dora de Pédery-Hunt. On September 1, at 9:30 a.m., the Team will attend a Brunch atop the CN Tower. , That’ evening, at 8:00 p.m., CNE Grandstand, there will be a special concert in honour of the Team, staged through the generosity of Gordon Lightfoot, and featuring other star performers such as Liona Boyd, Narry Chapin, Carol Baker, and The Good Brothers. This event is open to the general public. Following the concert, 11:00 p.m. at the Canadian Sports Hall of Fane, there:will be a Gala Reception. A vartety of other activities will also be available to the Team during "leisure" time. -
