that: an ‘exception to the "no grants" policy be made in this case, and
that the Board be asked to approve a grant of $1.715 million on a
-one-time’ basis toward the Science World Capital Campaign.

RECOMMENDATION :

That the Board agree to make an exception to its stated policy of not
making grants to organizations seeking funding assistance on a
regional basis, and approve a one-time grant of $1.715 million on
behalf of its member municipalities to the Science World Capital
Campaign, and that the funds be provided from the 1988 budget.
