Freeman City Clerk Re: Readjustment of Federal Electoral Boundaries Alderman Traboulay has asked that we bring to Council's attention the proposal of the Electoral Boundaries Commission to revise the Electoral Boundaries in British Columbia. A photocopy of the six page advertisement that appeared in various newspapers on Tuesday, July 8th, 1975 is attached. Alderman Traboulay has noted the proposal to create a new riding (to be called "Fraser Valley North") and Council will note that this new riding will consist of the Dewdney-Alouette Regional District, a portion of the Fraser-Cheam Regional District and the Cities of Port Coquitlam and Port Moody along with a section of the District of Coquitlam and a large area of unorganized territory to the North. Alderman Traboulay has suggested that this proposal be amended so that Fraser Valley North will only constitute that area contained within School District # 43. Although the formal Hearing will not be heid in Vancouver :until October 23rd, 24th and 25th, 1975 it is required that any person desiring to make a representation give notice within 23 days from the date of publication of the advertisement, i.e. July 3lst, 1975 and it is our understanding that Alderman Traboulay intends to propose the following resolution: “That the City Clerk be instructed to give notice in accordance with Section 17(4) of the Electoral Boundaries Readjustment Act that the City intends to make a representation with respect to the-Electoral Boundary readjustment now underway in the Province of British Columbia to the effect that the proposed riding of Fraser Valley North should only include the area encompassed by School District #43."
