The LIVE Society is pleased to announce the Biennial Opening Reception

Talk Title: "Props for the Memory and Doing Wrong in the Work of Joseph Beuys'
By Duke University's Kristine Stiles
No other artist of the twentieth century who engaged in war on that side of doing
wrong has been as celebrated as German artist Joseph Beuys. In an
unprecedented examination of the way Beuys' iconography relates to National
Socialism, Stiles suggests that Beuys used his art as "a prop for the memory " of
the Third Reich.

Paul Wong has traveled extensively throughout the world with his art over the
last thirty years. This year he was also included in the prestigious Venice
Bienniale with his floating exhibition "Hungry Ghosts" which will be reworked into
a live performance with six video projectors.
