Re: Family Month

As Council is aware, a Proclamation was issued by the Mayor declaring the
month of May as "Family Month". The Environmental Protection Committee
was asked to assist the local representatives of the Conference on the
Family in promoting some interest in 'Family Month'.

The Committee can report that two meetings were held during March and April
with representatives of local Churches and organizations in an effort to
create an interest in Family Month. The response was not overwhelming,
however, the Committee was pleased that cut of the 22 organizations or
individuals contacted, 6 responded with some very useful information and
‘programmes that their organizations were arranging for Family Month. The
information has been passed on to the local press who are printing articles on
Family Month during the month of May.
