Linda Hamilton, member of the Terrace- view board of directors, said details of the amalgamation are presently being worked out concerning exactly what the administrator’s - duties will be. Norm Carelius, ex- ecutive director at Mills Memorial Hospital, is expected to take over the post of administrator at Terraceview. Carelius will be paid a certain amount for his services by the Terrace and District Hospital Socie- ty. Hamilton said the money saved by not hir- ing a full time ad- ministrator at Ter- raceview will be directed back into patient care. Hamilton said the Ter- raceview. directors have decided that the system will be put into effect for a year, on a trial basis, with the understanding that the contract can be cancelled.any time within that year. Hamilton pointed out that there is currently a liaison be-— tween the two institu- tions for education and dietary counsel, ; Hamilton added that . a some reorganization at Mills Memorial Hospital . will have to take place so that Carelius will have time to fulfill his duties. Shirley Bentley, director of nursing at Mills Memorial, will serve as associate executive direc- tor so Carelius can spend a portion of his time away from the hospital. Hamilton said Ter- raceview Lodge and Mills Memorial Hospital “both have really good staff members’’ who are capable and enthusiastic so the amalgamation should be a success. She added that the money saved through this process would be beneficial for Ter- raceview.
