Bus 162 Schedule

This bus travels only on week days during the AM and PM peak hours,
with three busses in the morning and three in the afternoon. Also,
when school is operating, one bus at 8:30am and one at 3:20pm use this
route. Eight busses during a total of two hours each day is a lighter

schedule than most routes.

I have spoken with Mrs. Loutit on numerous occasions. Her main
complaint is with the amount of short-cutting traffic and not with the
busses themselves. Her concern for Patricia being damaged by the
busses and heavy traffic may te real. but this is not a valid reason

to re-route the bus. Improvements to the roadway however, may. be - -

required for Patricia.

Bus 162 Ridership

Ridership counts are available only as totals at the Coquitiam Centre
stop. and not at stops along Patricia and Hastines. The average AM
pick-up from River Springs to Coquitlam Centre is 12 people per bus.
and the average PM drop-offs between Coquilam Centre and River Springs
is 16 people per bus.

Qne criteria that 8C Transit uses for placing bus routes is that

riders should not be farther away than 450 metres. Removal of the 7

Hastings/Patricia portion of this route would require some riders to
walk much farther to a bus stop than the 450 metre ™aximumi.
