Deputy City Engineer SUBJECT: ROAD IMPROVEMENTS FRONTING 3¢11 & 3035 COAST MERIDIAN (Public Works Committee Meeting of June 1, 1993) RECOMMENDATION: That Council approve the installation of approximately 45 linear meters of curb and gutter fronting 3011 and 3035 Coast Meridian Road at an estimated cost of $3500. That $3500 be allocated from the Special Public Works Capital Reserve Fund for this purpose. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: A request for the installation of curb, guaer and sidewalk was received from residents in the 3000 Block of Coast Meridian Road between Coquitlam and Manning. The reason for the request is because the resident feels that if these road improvements were made their property would be protected from. potential damage that maybe caused by vehicles leaving the road. Following review the Committee requesced that a cost estimate be prepared for this work. The Project Technician prepared the attached estimate following consideration the Committee has recommended that only the curb and gutter, and required paving be done at an estimated cost of $3,500. If the ‘vork is approved it is anticipated it will be done by October 1993. JEY:ck Tieasurer’s Comments: There are sufficient funds in the Special Public Works Capital Reserve Fund for this purpose.
