THE CORPORATION GF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM C 0) o. C | L _ MEMORANDUM DEC 20 1982 TO: B. Kirk, December 16, 1982 City Administrator , FROM: F.E. Peters., P.-Enge, City Engineer SUBJECT: No Parking signs at Cedar. Drive School ~ Public Works Committee, December 15th, 1982 RECOMMENDATION: That the City install "No Parking At Any Time" signs on the west side of Cedar Drive from Prairie Avenue south to the Cedar Drive School building. BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: The width of Cedar Drive south of Prairie Avenue is only about 4.5 meters. This is scarcely enough room for two cars to pass each other without having any parking. It seems, however, that at certain times people do park along the west Side of the road. This interferes with the movements of parents in and out of the school and with school children who may be walking or pushing bicycles along the road. There is an item in the Provisional Budget for some widening of the road so that better access is available. However, the parking restrictions would be required -in any case. The Committee recommends that the restrictions be installed on the west side at this time. They will need to be relocated when the road is widened. The east side already has a yellow painted curb which represents a No Stopping zone. AG KE F.E ¥ Petezs., P. Eng., City. Engineer
