-~-2- Borch then explained the steps taken to date which included inventorying of equip~ ment and manpower, Preparation of a plan of the City outlining the area that could possibly be inundated in the event that the water topped the existing dyke on the Pitt River. The local Civil Defence Co-ordinator, Mr. Gordon Wilson, has been con- tacted and the foregoing information has been conveyed to him. Mr, Wilson is pre- paring a list of Civil Defence volunteers with a view to providing patrols and communications faciiities. It was Suggested that Mr. Borch be appointed as co-_ ordinator for flood control activities for the City for emergency measures, In answer to specific questions, Mr. Simmons advised; 1. that daily river levels and flood reports are broadcast on the valley, radio station as well as the C.B.C. which is the official disaster broadcast band; 2. the Dyking Authority would reimburse the City for immediate survedilance of the existing dykes and the repair of any minor problems; 3. demands for labour in the event of an emergency should be directed to Canada Manpower and i they will supply our needs.
