our paper. This year we may need a larger head
table, for several regular Press Builders have
told us that they are shooting for the higher

to celebrate our joint triumph at the Sai Woo!

ARITIME press club vaulted over Victory Square this week

to take the lead in the drive at this time. In third spot, and
breathing down the loggers’ necks, is Grandview club, which in
turn is challenged by Kitsilano (‘the Kits turned in another chunk
of cash on Tuesday, just too late to be counted in this week’s
standings)....

More than 100 supporters have pledged to become Press
Builders ($25) and 10 have pledged to ‘become Honor Press Builders
($100). ‘Good, but not good enough. We want 300 Press Builders
and at least 30 Honor Press Builders 'this year. . - -

Lithuanian Literary Society friends ‘held a little social for -
the Pacifié Tribune last Saturday and raised $25. A good part of
the money came from a rakeoff during a hot game of darts.
Kitsilano press club picked up the idea and have finstalled a dart- |
board for their coming social at 3023 West Fourth this Saturday, —
March 15, 8:30 p.m.... j ;

Norquay press club is encouraging “socialist competition”
in ‘its drive efforts and will wind up the campaign with a big
social. The club is collecting rags as one means of raising
money. ...

Electrical press club has three pledged Horfor Press Builders
and should be challenging the leaders on the drive scoreboard: |
within ‘the next fortnight... . e ‘

Throughout the province press clubs are getting into the
swing of campaign activities. We are watching with interest to
see whether Nanaimo, Victoria, New Westminster or North Van-
couver will top its target first. ... And what about our friends
jn Copper Mountain? Not a’ peep from them yet. . ..

Success of the drive depends not only on the big centres, and
the Press Builders and Honor Press Builders. It depends, pri-
marily, on the combined efforts of thousands of readers. Included —
among the donors every year are hundreds of Old Age Pension-
ers, Disabled Persons, TB patients, unemployed workers and
others to whom the giving of a few dollars represents a real |
sacrifice. Their loyalty and devotion to the Pacific Tribune should

be an inspiration and an example to us all.”
