Mothers Day

writes: I have heard on a TV
program that the phrase ‘‘Honor
Thy Father and Thy Mother”’ is
out of date, because how can you
honor some mothers and fathers
that get drunk and neglect their
children. Even in comic strips
they now show the children how
to disrespect their parents, SO
that today a lot of children are
getting “‘out of hand”’ so to speak,
and the parents suffer. I think I
know what a good mother is. I
had one.

Mother’s Day. A good mother, ~

no matter how poor she is, shares
her little food and all she has
with her children, and watches
over them with loving care
always in sickness and in health.
A good mother loves her bad
children also, and often with an
aching heart she tries to turn
them towards a good road.

of Vietnam are today fighting the.

evil of foreign aggression,
cruelty and plunder, just so their
children can live under the
guidance and love and care of
good parents. Perhaps when we
observed Mothers Day we forgot
about the Mothers of Vietnam.
