SUBJECT: PITCH-IN WEEK 1994.
(Environmental Protection Committee meeting November 17, 1993)

RECOMMENDATION:

1. That the Mayor proclaim the week of May 2 - 8 1994 as Pitch-In Week using a
proclamation similar in form tothe attached.

That Council approve $675 towards the Pitch-In British Columiba 1994 Campaign. Funds
to come from Recycling Promotional Reserve Account.

That Council approve the Engineering Dept. corresponding with the School Board, Girl
and Boy Scouts, all Service Clubs and other identified organizations to advise them of the
City’s support for the Pitch-In Week Program and to offer to pick up and dispose of
collected litter and recyclable materials.

That Council approve funding of up to $5,500 for Pitch-In Week and be allocated to the
Engineering Operations Budget for garbage/recycling collection and disposal budget.
Funds to come frorn the Recycling Promotional Reserve Account.

BACKGROUND & COMMENTS:
Attached is a memo that was sent to the Environmental Protection Committee for their approval

of the above noted items. At the November 17, 1993 meeting of the Environmental Protection
Committee members gave their approval for these items.
