The following is the estimated cost cf the works
established from the 1975 Project Report within the area
under the jurisdiction of the Corporation of the City of
Port Coquitlam and the Corporation of the District of

Coguittam to be improved or constructed under this agreement:

$5,560 ,000*

$5,560,000

*This estimate does not include for any pump-
house sumps which may be constructed concurrently with
dykes and floodboxes at the discretion of the City of Port
Coquitiam. Construction of pumphouse foundations and
construction of Cedar Drive pumphouse will be a cost

totally borne by the City of Port Coquittam.

Dear Mayor Tonn:

The letter of April 6th from your Huntcipal Clerk which contained the

‘March 28, 1977 resolutions of your Councti with respect to the matters set out

In my letter of March &th Is acknowledged. It is noted that Councl} wished

acvise the Minister of the Environment of Its acceptance tn principle, with
certaln modlftcations, of the contents of my letter.

With the exception of the fourth proviso, and a different provortio-
ning from that In the second proviso, Councl!*'s proposed modifications to my
proposals are recognized In the points set out Selow. Subject to concurrence
by the Clty of Port Coquitlam, recommendations shal! go forward with respect to
the following:

1. the area lytng north of the thalweg of Oe Bovitle Slough shall not
become the responsibfilty of the District of Coquitiam at this
time bue shalf rematn as the residual ef the Coqultlan Oyking
District: ’

2. the assets and liabilities of that portion of the Dyking Sistrict
lying south of the thalweg of De Bovl ile Slough shall transfer to
the City of Port Coquitlam and the District of Coquitiam such that:

(a) all lands held In the nare of the Coquitian Dyking Dis-
trlet as dyke right-of-way In the aforesaid area shali
transfer to that jurisdiction in which they stand;

other assets shat! transfer to the City and to the Dis-
trict In proportion to the l-yeer average percentage

of revenue accruing from dyking taxation apatied by the
Dyking District over the perlod 1967-76. The preportlon
shall be based on revenues from che area cf the Dyxing
District south of De Soville Slough only, and shall te
as follows:

(a) City of Port Coquitian 70.99 per cent.
{bo} Runicipality of Coquitiom 3.50 per cent;
