A punctuation mark that was intended to convey a question and an exclamation mark simultaneously, as in "You're going to wear that?" It was invented in 1962 and introduced in an article written for TYPEface Magazine by Martin K. Speckter, an advertising man (wouldn't you know?). It had a brief vogue in the 1960s though seems to have disappeared from currency (well have yoi/ever heard of it?). Besides, it looked ugly: a question mark superimposed on an exclamation mark.
